October 2020

Our theme for this school year is “Sent to Serve“. Our students have been busy with many service projects. The entire school has been collecting items for Anchor House for our first quarter chapel offerings. Some classrooms have made cards and paintings for nursing home residents. The 5 – 8 graders are collecting used jeans to be turned into shoes through the Sole Hope organization. And we donated some used school furniture to 4 Kenya’s Kids. The students of Sauers have hearts for serving others!

We ended the first quarter of school on October 9. The students have been working hard this semester! This month, we welcome Clarity into the building for their “I decide for Me” abstinence program for our 6 – 8 graders.

We are pleased to receive a Secured Schools Safety Grant from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security. We will make some much-needed security upgrades to our building this school year.

As the seasons change and the weather grows colder, remember these words from Isaiah 40:8: “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.” What a reassuring message for us, as we live in an ever-changing world.

Thank you for your continued support of Sauers!

In His Service,

Tricia Engel, Principal
